Hampton tour

Hampton tour

There is a new marketing trend which directs interested viewers into volunteering their time and attention for pleasure watching commercials (yes, commercials) via websites. Whether you want to know about Olay's new "Regenerist" product line, or if you want to find out about the Hampton's makeover in luxury accommodation for an affordable price, this new age of online commercials could be the most provocative medium commercialism has ever witnessed.

I was particularly impressed with the Hampton's highly comedic message which caters to business travelers. With excellent scripting to back a visually interesting and simple message about the innovations in service and perks, this message was so compelling that we instantly booked!

On another note, Amazon.com is also offering clips to entice viewers to their websites. Again, comedy-based scripting carrots in stickiness. This current week's feature gives spotlight appearance to Daryl Hannah in "Be Careful What You Wish For." Very funny!

Vazu

Vazu

Delicious. Here is a cutting edge application that allows you to send contact information to your mobile phone right from a web page! One of the big allures for pda/mobile integrated technology is the ability to sync right from outlook to a mobile device, thereby avoiding the painful manual entry of new contacts, and the tedious dialing of phone numbers not already stored in your address book.

VAZU is the perfect substitute if you simply need to keep the phone you have. As long as your mobile model supports SMS (text messaging), VAZU functionality is supported. Consider combining with Plaxo for the Outlook integration you would otherwise get only through an integrated pda-phone.

With Vazu Click, you don't need to buy any special phone-specific cables or software. Just highlight any text on a web page, hit the "send to phone" button, and your contacts appear on your phone.

Checking Email with PHP

v13, i11: Checking Email with PHP

Some of the best innovations in technology are nested in webnuggets like this generously shared script / idea from Russell Dyer, a Perl programmer, a MySQL developer, and a Web designer living and working on a consulting basis in New Orleans. He can be reached at: russell@dyerhouse.com.

Kudos, Russell!!
